Mikey, Oh Mikey

I am fucking depressed.  I was on the cusp and just got shoved over.  Why you ask?  Hurricane Mikey has stopped blogging! I have always loved reading anything Mikey wrote.  Shopping lists, chicken salad recipes, poker stories, but especially his epic posts.  And no you can't access them anymore either.

If you want to read all the reasons, they are HERE.  And they're all valid reasons.  Hell he certainly doesn't need to give any reasons to do what he wants to do.  His life has certainly changed since his move from Vegas, and his health scare.  People change.  I get that.  But it doesn't make me less sad.

Mikey was the one who gave me a shot.  He let me be a guest blogger on his site and write a poker story.  And then I was hooked.  Without Mikey, there'd be no Very Josie.  I've probably been reading him for over 4 years - way longer than all you guys :) and I don't take to change very well.  Really, I don't.  I'm barely over the fact that DP Cooper stopped blogging and I was only reading him for a couple of months.

And since I'm wallowing in my misery, let's go a little deeper.

I always, always, always wanted to meet Mikey.  I've talked to him on the phone several times and we talked about meeting up in Vegas.  And when I finally got to Vegas, Mikey wasn't there anymore.  Missed him by a few months.

So me being a mathematical person, I am trying to determine how long it should take me to get over this.

4 years of reading = 4 days
His booming voice with a southern twang = additional 1 day
No one's ever gonna call me Sweet Mama again = addtional 1 day

In approximately 6 days I will be back to my bubbly self.  See ya then.

Mikey just called me in work and he's such a riot, I'm still smiling.

he fucked with the crazy receptionist = -1 of being bummed

he called me sweet mama = -1 day of being bummed

he offered to be a guest blogger on Very Josie! = -3 days

Well Jon (BVU grad) he's blocked it from EVERYONE. There isn't a special invite or anything. He's taking a break for a couple months, completely. So it's not like he's posting but blocking people out. The bastid. :)

Like Kissing My Sister.....

The Very Josie was Very fun yet I'm Very frustrated. (looking at you Jordan) We ended up with (13) players.  Not too shabby, considering it was Dank night. The players were: 1. Coop 2. Frankie Baby 3. Gary 4. Jordan 5. Kattitude 6. Lucky Duck 7. Memphis Mojo 8. The Lovely Very Josie 9. WolfsButt, I mean Wolfshead :P 10. Edgie??? 11. GoBurn1 12. My sis, PrettyCat1 a/k/a Cricket 13. Baynes Baynes made an entrance showing up a tiny bit late, but what a pleasant surprise.  I could've kissed that frog!  (frog avatar)  Baynes I think you can leave work at a decent time one a month, right?  The Very Josie is only once a month! 2 tables.  I started off with Mojo, Kat, Edgie, GoBurn1, Baynes & Ducky at my table.  Started off playing good and stayed that way.  Caught some decent cards early on and kept the chips I won.  But that Damn Mojo was a thorn in my side for the whole game.  He got MORE chips early on and held onto them too.  Mojo will now be called Nem

Upset

I got a lot of much needed sleep last night and woke up with intentions of writing a very funny story but plans have changed my friends. I just read Tony's Latest Post and I'm too worried or upset to write about anything so frivolous.  I think many of his readers just see him as an interesting story, and not a person.  I see the person, who I was trying so very hard to steer away from a train wreck, but it didn't work.  In fact, the part that scares me the most is maybe I, with my good intentions, pushed him further off the cliff.  Maybe I put too much pressure on him to avoid the machines - too much pressure about something he is unable to control.  I need to shut the fuck up and stop giving out unsolicited advice, which most likely will not happen.  I cannot express how badly I feel about this.
