Well I had a nice visit with my uncles and aunts yesterday, and boy do I feel young now!  :)  Either that or they've gotten quite old.  Actually, my Auntie Louise gave me a few backhanded comments about getting old. Here's the first one:  "Sweetie, we're all getting old.  Even you, I see." She reminds me of Rose This post was supposed to be a story inspired by KenP, one of the crankiest old men evar.  Ken is always grumbling about something or other and it's never positive. Hell, check out the comments for the last couple years if you don't believe me.  Anyway, as much as he is always a pain in the ass, I like him and give him a pass.  Many others wouldn't get the pass that Ken gets.  He pissed me off again , this past weekend, and that's when it dawned on me that he reminded me of Rose! Rose was a horrid bitch of a woman that I worked with over twenty years ago.  I decided I'd write a little story about Rose to illustrate how the two of them are so similar, but.....it didn't work out so well.  I was up pretty late last night (well you probably wouldn't consider it late, but I do) writing and writing and wasn't happy with the results.  It is waaaaaay too long and in order to get the essence of the story it ended up being way to...

First of all let me say that maybe I got uber frustrated because I am PMSing.  Maybe.   Which may also be why Ken pissed me off.  Nahh....Ken always pisses me off and I don't always have PMS.  Bank of America, oh, how I hate thee Every year at Christmas time the owner requests that I get him a large and specific amount of cash.  He uses it to pass out to everyone who has done anything for him during the year; cleaners, building employees, mailmen, waitresses, etc etc etc.  If you've given this guy one cup of coffee during the year, he'll most likely hit you with $100.  He's very generous that way.  In fact, I've never met a grown man who embraced Christmas more than him...and um, he's Jewish.  He goes over the top for Christmas with his bonuses as well (lucky me!) and he's the one who insists on gifts at the holdiay part via Secret Santa. Every week, Airing My Dirty Laundry One Sock at a Time , does this thing called Okay Tuesday where she lists a bunch of things to be "okay" about, and since imitation is the most sincere form of flattery....let's go! It's Okay..... That Madonna will be performing in the half time show at the Super Bowl.  Very okay!!!!  OMFG The SuperBowl and a free perfomance by Madonna!  Sign me up!  I saw Madonna in concert once, about 15 years ago, in Foxboro Stadium, and um.....the seats were so bad I couldn't see her on the stage.  That's one big mo' fo' stadium.  Thank goodness for big screen tvs.  When I told him Madonna would be doing the superbowl half time show he responded "Who's that?".  OMFG  Youth is wasted on the young.  Which reminds me, I was loading some music (yes, old 80s & 90s music.  stfu) and somehow got Ceilo Greene! Sugar Bear was the culprit. A little personal insight into me; I am really bad at taking advice.  Horrible.  Mind you, I'm great at giving it.  I'll give you my opinion as well as points A, B & C that support my opinion as absolutely correct.  When someone tells me something though, I have a hard time with it.  Really.  I think it's hard for me to believe that someone else could me more right than me.  :)  Shocking huh?  Anyway, I've been taking advice more easily lately, and all I can say is I'm pleased.  If you trust and respect the giver of the advice, it's easier to have faith. Well this post ain't about that.  :)  This post is about me taking advice from someone that I don't trust and respect.  Well it's not that I don't, so much as I don't know who the heck this person is, so how could I trust him?  Yet I've taken his advice.  Without a doubt, unchartered waters for me. Ever hear of Movember?  It happens every November and for the entire month men grow their moustaches to raise awareness and money for men's health....specifically prostate cancer.  Some of the men at my firm decided to get involved and it made for a fun month for me.  I got to make fun of sooooo many moustaches, both the uber hairy ones and the pitful ones.  Of course, since I got my entertainment's worth, I most certainly donated to this very worthy cause. Anyhoo, at the end of November, the men who still had 'staches took a group picture and all the women got to vote for their favorite 'stache.  Wanna see the pic?  LOL Sure you do! Everybody, all together now.....PHILADELPHIA SUCKS!  When I posted my picks earlier in the week I noted that whoever took Philly this week was a sucker.  Waffles and Sebs are definitely suckers, putting 2 and 5 on them respectively.  I don't know about the Waffles Family as I haven't seen their pics, but my guess is the family followed suit, with the exception of the little girl who has jedi like intuitive powers.  You know, like me.  :) Oh Philly.....oodles of peeps on the DL including Vick, so Young was starting again.  Just how long does it take two broken ribs to heal anyway?  The game was filled with Young throwing interceptions.....at least it was till I fell asleep. ...Valentine's Day! If you live in Boston (or not under a rock) you'd know why today is Valentine's Day.  Today Bobby Valentine signed a two year contract with the Boston Red Sox to be the new skipper.  I think this is going to be a huge success.  Huge. He has oodles of experience and success managing big league teams.  Quite frankly, he's had success with teams that are far less talented than the current bosox roster, which is why I have a warm fuzzy feeling about this guy. Sure, I've heard stories that he's a little over the top and has a big ego.  So what!  I don't mind a big ego, so long as there's a legit reason for his ego.  If he's great then why the hell shouldn't he have a big ego?  He's given me a glimmer of hope for the sox's 2012 season and that's the first bit of hope I've had since they got eliminated from the wild card and Papelbon signed up with the Phillies. At long last, I've found my soulmate, or rather my soulmate has found me.  It's true! (at least I thought so yesterday) And unlike some other people, my soulmate is not a cat.  Heck,to my surprise, it's not even a man!   Lemme splain. Another killer week for me at football.  Killer.  I won for the week in my larger league, which means I'll be getting $125 shipped to me.  More than the cost for playing all year.  Wheeee!!!  And I have it won, regardless of whether New Orleans wins or not tonight.  No sweating out Monday Night Football.  I have alot more winning to do if I want to cash for the end of year prizes though. This thingy cracks me up.   You put in a word, like "Josie" and this random slogan generator comes up with an advertising slogan for you.  How cool is that?  This blog can always use some PR so I thought, why not? I put in Josie and they came up with this for MY SLOGAN.  (A taste of Josie) Ahem, maybe that's not the best slogan.  I realized my error and this time I put in "Very Josie" to get my NEW SLOGAN . (50% more Very Josie....like I've gained weight!  No thank you!) If you're at my blog reading about the cowboy blues you know I'm talking 'bout kings, right?  They killed me last night, absolutely killed me.  In fact I should start a new blog called How NOT to play KK.  OMFG Yesterday (Friday) at the last minute I decided I had a hankering to play a tournament, so I texted Gary to see if Tootsie would let him out to play.  She did.  I sometimes think Tootsie has thoughts like "God bless Josie for getting Gary outa this house and giving me a few hours of peace and quiet."  Hmmmm maybe, maybe not.  Anyway, we headed up to the Seabrook Poker Room for the 6:30pm $90 tourney.  Fun times. My plan going in was to be careful and last a long time.  No unecessary gambles, I promised myself.  After about the first hour I was a slight chip leader, playing selectively and well.  A new guy came to the table just as I got QQ.  I raised it up to $500.  The newbie and one other guy came along....

Friday in Atlantic City was a bit of a wasted day.  By "wasted" I mean no poker was played (till night) and I didn't get much done.  I did check out of Borgata and Wolfie and I headed over to Absecon (sp?) to check in at a Marriott Fairfield, which was 5 min away and quite cheap.  But before check in we headed to Ocean City as Wolfie needed 17 buckets of caramel corn and I wanted to get Sugar Bear a souvenir.  Last time I went to AC I brought him those little ketchup and mustard bottles that you get with room service.  I promised him something better this time.  The problem was there was nothing at Borgata that he'd like, or in Absecon for that matter, so I was hoping Ocean City would be the answer. Not so. It was a beautiful day but 98% of the shops were closed.  The only things open were Mank & Manco's Pizza, the caramel corn place and a jewelry store.  Blah.  Nothing for a 13 yr old boy.***...
