Update #2 I'm out. :) Fawk. I was too short for anything but all in or fold. Waited till I got KQ sooted and jammed. No one called and I picked up the blinds. Next hand AK sooted. Jam and one other guy went all in over the top. I was up against JJ and didn't hit anything. Oooot. Suck.
Update #1 After first break I have 3,900 in chips. 1,300 peeps so far and late reg is running for another hr. Im in 920th place now. Fawk. I was as low as 2,800 so I'm on the upswing. I will update again as soon as I double up. :)
As I type, I'm playing my $109 token on BCP. 911 entrants but late registration is for two hours so I expect about 1,200 peeps. Although it just started I'm doing quite well, hovering at 50th place. Wish me luck!
I'll post updates here every couple of hours...assuming I last a long time and I'm feeling like I just might.
Healthwise, yesterday was 50/50. I did the bike but that's it. Took a day off from the rest. I ate very healthy all day, making a lowfat veggies soup and salad for dinner, but did snack after dinner. I had a couple of pieces of Godiva chocolates because they were there. :( and some nonfat plain yogurt! and (yes more) some Special K cereal. I was up reaaaaaaally late.
Okay, that's it for now. Mama has a tourney to play and now I've dropped to 66 place out of 1,100. Terrible! ;) jk
Play smart.
Josie
PS. Happy Birthday!

Okay -- so I will readily admit that I am a cheap guy. I did not come from
a wealthy family and had some really tight times financially when I went

Srry, grind out another ticket for next week and come back on Sun and win one for the rest of us.
TY Old Man! lol
next time more like the KQ hand and less like the AK hand.
K-thanks
Ohhhhh thanks for that grrrrrrouchie!
Hard luck, hope the AK holds next time.
I lost in similar fashion last week AK < QQ and it has been bothering me since, so here is the question, would you consider folding AK ?
I will give you my scenario to give you better idea, i played in the $1 satellite - my bankroll cannot afford the $11 satellites :) - yes they are rebuys which is good in a way - it gives you the cushion to play again, also if you get a good hand and holds there will be atleast 2 or 3 all ins and you can nicely triple up or more - so back to the story - i won the $109 satellite last sunday and played the 125k guarantee - it was close to 1200 entries and 90 paid - i had some nice double ups in the beginning and was at 68/165 when i got AK.. i raised UTG got reraised.. i three bet.. to be shoved.. now i didnt even think for a sec before calling but ofcourse i lost and it has been bothering me ever since, should i have folded AK there ? here are the reasons,
1. i was close to the money - i only spent few dollars to get back 225 minimum
2. i had a decent stack and i was up against the TL - so guarantee i will be out if i lose that
3. did i overplay AK ? agree if i held that hand it would have been a good double and the first place was 26k or something
The reason my vote may swing in favoring the fold happen last night, i played the $11 super stack - i didnt get any big hands and was staying avg the whole way - 36 paid and i was at 40/52 when i got AK blinds 1/2k had about 31k i think - raised and got shoved - this time may be influenced by last week i folded - dont know what he had but the good news is caught a nice heater after that and went on to win this one (:brag: my first place finish ever in live or online..yayyyy :brag:)
so did that AK fold helped me to win the tourney ? i am perplexed on this ? what is your opinion ?

Good question Ed! (Poker is head or Pokerish Ed - I am going with the latter)
I have folded AK before. What comes to mind is a tourney I played in Foxwoods in Aug 2011. I was playing to win, but first I had to be ITM. I bet out with my AK, blinds and antes were huge and someone with slightly less chips jammed all in over the top. At this point in a tourney most of the shitty players have been weeded out and the better ones remain. Did I want to become a short stack before being ITM? No. There was no reason to gamble here. Plus odds were I did not have the best hand. Is he throwing his stack on the line for something worse than AK, like AQ or AJ? Um, no. So most likely he has a pair which means I'm doing slightly worse than a coin flip so it was time to fold.
I find that if one goes very deep in a tournament it's because of folds like the one you mention. congrats on the first place win btw! That must've been a very very nice bit of cash.
In the instance noted in this post I was short stacked, not near the money and needed to double up, so I'd jam here for sure.
I agree with your point of view - i should have folded the first one - learned the lesson.
Yes nice cash for $11 investment - it was close to 800 dollars :)
- hoping the luck continues next week :) - i am playing the $380 satellite for this one at Borgata,

Holy shiat Ed! Congrats on the money!!!! You should lose some to me. :) or erm, play the Very Josie on Monday night anyway.
Borgata, eh? I'm playing at Caesar's AC! may have to check out the borg calendar.
Wow, that looks like a great satty...and I may be available on Saturday to play it! Hmmmm but if (when) I win entry to the event, is it a 3 day event? I don't think I'll be there that long. :( Kinda liking the look of this dammit!
Yes - it is 500k guarantee - they easily go over that - 1st place should be in the range of 150k - so if u make it to day 3 you wont be too worried :)
