Both Good & Bad

See the area where the shoulder meets the neck?
We'll be talking about that soon.

Hmmm what shall we talk about first; my fitness regime or poker?  Okay, fitness it is!  There's both good and bad to tell here but seeing as I'm a 'glass is half full' kinda gal we'll start with the good stuff.

Good Stuff:
I worked out again....long walk and then exercise bike.  Didn't track too carefully how long I did it which is an epic fail but in the future I will.  I think i'll use the timer that I use for poker blinds.  It surely seemed like longer than last time.  Afterwards did a series of exercises with free weights for shoulders, arms, chest (shut up) etc.  I'm very sore again today.  See photo.  I need that area rubbed badly. Hot shower helped a bit.  Thankfully I am skipping free weights tonight and in it's place will be a god awful ab routine (with the usual walk and bike but I'm thinking of increasing the walk because i'm out of my fucking mind). I say bring it!
Erm, the diet. I was sooo good.  I brought breakfast and lunch with me.  I am NOT doing that no carb shiat.  Instead I'm doing healthy carbs like fruits and veggies and whole grains.  That being said I had a slice of light wheat toast for breakfast, half a nonfat plain yogurt an hr later - salad for lunch.....and then...before I left work...and apple and a cheese stick.  The apple is something Im proud of because I LOVE LOVE LOVE veggies but fucking HATE fruit.  Blah.  I just can't get into it.  I mean eating an apple is akin to eating a raw potato, right?  Okay maybe slightly sweeter but still.  Truth be told I only ate half the apple but it's a start. Plus I knew I'd be working out the second I got home and wanted something in my system that wasn't heavy.

It was poker night at my house last night, so I rushed home did my work out and thennnnnnnnn ate another salad and a very small plain turkey burger for dinner (no bun) while the other peeps had chinese food.  Good choice, right?

Bad Stuff:
The wheels kinda fell off though.  Noodles, one of the poker guys brought me/us a huge Godiva gift basket filled with CHOCOLATE.  It was the first time Noodles looked attractive to me.  lol jk  He does this kind of creepy thing where he wiggles his tongue kinda at me - and it looks like the guy from silence of the lambs. *shudder* anyway I digress.  I had a small Godive milk chocolate bar, and then some potato chips and then a woo-woo (drink).

It was totally because of poker night.  We probably play once per month at best and rest assured next time I'll be prepared with healthy snacks and no more booze.  Done.  Finito.

So there you have it, 2 days down, 98 to go.

Poker:
I rock!  What, you didn't know this?  We played 2 sng's and I won the first one.  I was a shortie and made a massive comeback.  It was down to Gary and me HU and I had more chips when he kindly offered a split.  Ha!  I refused and the very next hand, I took his ass out.  Second game I came in 2nd place.

Then.....I played a satellite online and won a $33 token.  Ooooo!  It's burning a hole in my pocket!  Imma play a tournament with it Friday night.

Also, what is always in the forefront of my mind:  WSOP Circuit Event in Atlantic City!  Mama's coming and she's kicking ass!

Play smart.

Josie

@josie congrats on your sng wins. Stick with your diet or so called diet. I agree do not do away with carbs 100% like most idiots do. The key to losing weight is do not listen to the idiots selling there crap Jenny Graig etc...Portion control and moderate physical activities will do the trick. What physical activities you choose to do are totally up to you, lol. Chow Chow
Made some more babyback ribs yesterday with some crashed potatoes and brussel sprouts, yummo!
Tonight being Thursday is steak night, hell with it steak night the rest of the weekend since my weekends start on Thurdays fixing to start on Wednesdays, life is good.

Good luck on the health kick went down the tubes this week. Hard to eat healthy with 2 14 year old girs in the house, especially when one has never had such Philly delicacies as cheese steaks and hoagies. Well I can't let her cultural education suffer can I?

As for apples it depends what kind you are eating. Red delicious you might as wll eat cardboard. Honeycrisps however are like eating candy. All depends on the apple

You're kidding me. Every apple tastes different. Red delicious, especially those from Wash have no taste because the were designed to look good on the shelf and to hell with taste. Other varities run the gamut from tart to sweet, crisp to mushy.

Josie said...

@Wolfie, yeah i've had mealey mushy ones blah. I bought 2 apples - major investment imho and I've eaten one so I suppose im going to have to eat the other one and get it over with. btw wolfie baby - you meeting me in AC? Imma email you.

Congrats on the working out thingie - I really want to get some cheap free-weights for the apartment.
Going to start scouring craigslist and see if anyone is trying to part with them as they are in a rush to leave town because they owe some nasty person big money :)

keep it up and good job.
